Our next Racketball club night is Wednesday 2/4. As usual we have 3 courts from 5.00pm. After some initial enthusiasm there has been a decline in numbers attending and so it may be that we revert to once a month. It isn't sensible to book courts which don't get used, members will become frustrated.
Our next quiz night is 5/4 and is a sell out. This time round food will be Thai green curry or vegetable lasagne. These quiz nights do seem to be popular and so we will aim for a second event in the Autumn.
The Kent County Closed Champs are to be held at the Mote over the weekend of 17/18 May. Both Squash and Racketball are included. Let's hope for a strong entry from the club. Do come along to watch and enjoy some quality play.
The PSA tour will return to the club again this summer, more details to follow.
I have been contacted by Maidstone squash club regarding a trip to Gibraltar to play squash and racketball on 17th and 18th September against the GSA (Gibraltar Squash Association). Matches will be played over the 2 evenings, leaving time for sightseeing and relaxing. Maidstone have asked if any Mote players would like to join them.
Some of you will know I lived in Gib for 4 years and was a member at the club. Have a look at the website to see the facilities - they were brand new in 2019 and are just about the best I have ever seen or used. The club is very friendly and (unless things have changed since my day) visiting teams are very well looked after. This is a repeat visit for the Maidstone Club so we can assume they enjoyed the visit. Let me know if of interest and I will pass on your details.
