PSA Tournament and Points to Note

Evening All

The PSA tournament is confirmed for the weekend of 7th and 8th July. Matches will commence on Friday 7th on courts 1 and 2 (club night will continue on courts 3 and 4).

We are able to stage this thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, Jason Goodayle and Clive Franklin (and their respective businesses of course).

Play will be continuous on Saturday 8th, with a start time to be confirmed depending on the final draw. Ben Ford will be in attendance all day to run the tournament and the bar and kitchen will both be open.

On Saturday afternoon courts 3 and 4 will be available for use FOC for members, so come along, have a game and watch some high quality squash from the men and women of the PSA with a beer and nibbles. it'd be great to get a gallery for the final stages of the tournament. Jason has spruced up the balcony areas for some al fresco relaxation.

We hope to run a junior tournament on Sunday, subject to confirmation from Ben. Further updates to follow.

Other points to note:

Could the last person to leave the club on any day have a quick look round and turn off the lights please,

The temporary fix in the men's shower will be made permanent as soon as parts are available, meantime all 5 showers are in operation - just remember shower No5 (immediately on the left as you enter) has a different mechanism from the others so please familiarise yourselves with the temperature control. The ladies 3rd shower will also be returned to operation upon arrival of replacement parts.

We aim to run a repeat of the Racketball Barn door challenge later in September and are trying to secure a date for the annual cricket match, also in September. More details to follow.

We are trialling some Racketball club afternoons on occasional Saturdays and next date is 24/6. Come along from 3.00 if you are free. Cost is £3.50. The bar will be open.

Finally, a heads up on cost. We have enjoyed a fixed price deal on our energy costs that has somewhat insulated us from the big price hikes we have all seen in the last year. The fixed price deals will end in the not too distant future. Hopefully the increases will not impact our ability to continue to invest in the club's infrastructure. We will keep you posted.

All the best

Steve
