Goodayle Brothers Take Home Doubles Title on Hugely Successful World Squash Day 2017

Ben and Tom Goodayle prevailed victorious as the brothers took home the coveted Champagne Doubles Title with a 2-0 victory in the Final over Marcus Robson and Adrian Humphries on World Squash Day 2017. The Goodayle Brothers knew that they’d have to be at their best to defeat strong opposition and a fine display of consistent driving to a length proved to be difference in a very high-quality match-up.

19 pairs competed over an extremely entertaining afternoon and evening at The Mote Squash Club, topped-off with some exuberant live music from the very talented Wesley King.

The Event coincided with the Mote Squash Club’s Official Reopening Party with Members and Guests alike celebrating late into the evening. Friends and family from all participants were extremely well represented and over £1,500 was recuperated behind the bar on entry fees, food and drinks.

This was exactly the sort of event we’d all hoped for and special thanks go to Alan Thatcher for organising the day for the Club. Special thanks also go to Russell Mason, Gerard Harbron, Martin Ball and Annabel Williamson for their efforts behind the bar, on the barbeque and assisting with all necessary tasks to ensure that the day ran seamlessly.

We are already excited for 2018 World Squash Day with incoming grants for a new development fund being put in place to provide clubs who promote the day with the most enthusiasm and originality.

The date of the 2018 Event date is to be confirmed in due course.
