As our members are very aware, the Coronavirus situation is very dynamic and the Government advice as to what people should and should not be doing is changing almost daily. The Government advice changed significantly on Monday 16th March with respect to the policy of social distancing with the advice that people should avoid non-essential travel, avoiding social gatherings including those with family and friends etc etc.
The club will remain open for members to continue to use as they wish for now, but we ask that all members remain extremely vigilant with their hand washing regimes and be conscious of how we all interact in any social setting mindful of the most recent advice. We will not plan any further social events until further notice, and we will not run the Club Championships at this time.
Kent sponsored leagues have now been effectively cancelled and as such the Priory team will not complete the final match of their season on Wednesday night.
Whilst the schools are remaining open, we are proposing to continue Junior sessions, but attendance at these is of course optional.
At this time, we are not proposing to close the bar, but this will remain under review. Bar staff are under no obligation to work if they do not wish to.
We are reviewing the club cleaning regimes and will be paying particular attention to cleaning of surfaces that we all come into routine contact with eg. Door handles, bar / table surfaces etc.
The Committee will continue to monitor the situation and this may mean we may need to close the club at some point in the future.
The most important thing at this time is to stay safe and we wish everyone well in these unprecedented times.
