Afternoon All
Our first Xmas Party since lockdown is on Friday 22nd December, commencing at 7.00. We will be entertained by a solo semi acoustic Wes King and by Dougal, our resident sing along specialist. No charge for entry, Pizzas available for £5 on the night. Club night will continue as usual. If anybody would like to bring along a guitar (or some musical spoons) and take the mic for a short while that would be greatly appreciated.
Just to help Russ with catering, could you let him know if you are hoping to attend please. It promises to be a fun night.
The club championships are moving along. We have the squash doubles plate and main finals on 17/11 from 6.00pm, with the Racketball main final 24/11, also at 6.00pm.
The Mote Graded tournament takes place Saturday 6/1/24 and entries should now be possible on the website. Hopefully a good entry will come from the Club.
We postponed the October quiz night to avoid a clash with the Rugby World Cup Final, which eventually did not include England (I should have known better). We now plan to hold this either the last weekend of January or the first weekend of February. Steve Wentzell has volunteered to be our quizmaster.
In other news, some of you will recall we discussed partial redecoration of the club at the AGM. We now have costs and will be commencing work as soon as possible. We will also make some changes to our electrical equipment to protect us from any further unfortunate instances of hot water being left on in the changing rooms. Shouldn't be too much disruption so please bear with us. It will cause a hit to our reserves - of course you can help to replenish these by using the courts and the bar.
