Change in court timings + Bar re-opening plans

Court Timings

In ongoing efforts to ensure effective controls are in place to reduce Covid-19 transmission, we feel we are now able to free up more court capacity, so, from Monday 5th October , we will be introducing 65minute court bookings.

Playing time per court is still 45minutes only - this allows 20minutes 'cleaning' time between bookings. This means all court timings will now be available for booking. If you wish to play for longer than 45minutes, please pre-book 2 courts in advance, but vacate the 2nd court at least 20minutes from the end. Court lights will remain as token/coin only so please be mindful of the court time you are using.

The system will be updated over the next few days - in the meantime, no member bookings will be possible for Monday 5th onwards. Once updated, a further communication will be sent out.

Members are reminded that if you are wishing to play all court squash with other members outside of your household bubble, you need to be formally nominated within a squash bubble (max 6 people), otherwise you are restricted to only playing 'sides'.

To help us comply with our legal requirements for track and trace, we would kindly ask all members to include all players on the booking system when you pre-book your courts, and to also ensure that everyone signs in & out of the signing in logsheet at the club entrance.

Bar

With the court timings being less spaced out and with court demand being pretty healthy, we are going to trial opening the bar on more weekdays. From Tuesday 6th October , the bar will be open from 5pm on Tuesday to Friday evenings.

Due to the recent changes announced by the Prime Minister earlier in the week, there are now certain legal requirements we will need to adhere to when operating the bar. Firstly, we will require everyone to wear a mask upstairs, from the point of going up the stairs. Also, our bar staff will have to wear a mask at all times, and it will be table service only.

We will review the situation after a couple of weeks to see if this remains financially viable.

These are exceptional times but hopefully we will be able to continue playing throughout the winter ... watch this space! AGM details to follow in due course.
