Coronavirus update + Committee Vacancy

As you know, the club unfortunately still remains closed until further notice as per the Government guidelines on indoor sport. That said, as lockdown measures start to ease, it looks like we may be edging closer to a re-opening. England Squash are developing guidelines on what clubs will need to do when they do eventually open. Kent Squash are keeping a close eye on developments and the Club Committee will ensure that we stay aligned to the guidance at every step along the way to ensure the club is safe to use by all members.

It is clear that there will be no return to ‘normal’ in the near future, as it was prior to lockdown, and we will all have to adapt to a new ‘normal’ for a period of time for the safety of all members. We will of course keep you updated as we know more! We obviously want to open the club as quickly as possible, but we will only do so once we have the appropriate measures in place.

Our club coach, Steve Franks, is offering 1-2-1 outdoor conditioning training as per the Government guidelines – please do contact him if you wish to take this up.

Following Simon Muir’s resignation, we now have a vacancy on the Committee for the role of Treasurer. It is a big loss, but the Committee thanks Simon for his efforts and commitment over the years working in this role for the benefit of the club. We do however need to fill this key role as soon as possible as the club works it’s way through these challenging times and looks to ensure that we continue to thrive financially. Please contact Tim Casey asap if you are interested.
