This year we won't be able to play the Dave Ealham cricket match as the cricket club has no pitches available before the end of the season on any weekend.
As an alternative we would like to organise a social rounders match for members and their friends and families.
The date is Sunday 10th September. We aim to start around noon and (depending on numbers) finish about 2.00pm. We can use the bottom field during the match and then Russ will organise a BBQ after. Of course the bar will be open from the start.
Do come along, if not to play then to encourage the players. Russ will also be celebrating his birthday about that time. There is a charge of £10 per person for food and one drink.
Do we have any experts on the rules of rounders? Maybe somebody prepared to lend their expertise by officiating? In return I will keep him or her supplied with beer or other drink during the game.
Do you have any old rounders equipment in the loft waiting to be reborn? Anything usable on the day would be much appreciated (and returned to its owner).
Finally - anybody want to be a team captain?
We'll pin a notice on the board at the club for players to add names. Perhaps any offers of equipment or to captain/officiate could come to me by replying to this note.
